Why 30-day trials fail
A 30-day trial feels generous, but it quietly removes every reason to decide. Parents drift, kids miss classes, and by week three the "trial" has become a free month that ends in silence.
The data pattern we see across schools: most trial students decide within their first three classes. Everything after that is just delay.
The 7-day structure
- Day 1 – Intro lesson (private or semi-private). Set goals with the parent in the room.
- Day 3 – First group class. Pair them with a friendly senior student.
- Day 5 – Second group class + stripe or patch. A visible win.
- Day 7 – Progress conference. Review goals, show the path, present membership options.
What makes it convert
- A fixed end date. Urgency without pressure.
- A scheduled conference on day one. Book the day-7 meeting before they leave the first lesson.
- An early win. Kids who earn something in week one stay.
- Staff follow-up after every visit. A 30-second text: "Loved seeing Maya today!"
Common mistakes
- Letting the trial student "just come whenever"
- Skipping the parent at the day-7 conference
- Offering a discount instead of a clear next step
Run it for 60 days, measure conversion, and share your numbers in the group.
